No Hablo Ingles
In Spanish 3, we did a very unique project called "no hablo ingles" which means can't speak english. For this project we were asked to go out and find things in the community in english that were either health or transportation related. Once we found something we found important, we then had to translate it into Spainish. I chose to find a health related topic that I translated. I thought it would be important to have information accessible about the family birth center at Mercy Hospital translated into Spanish. I feel as if I was Spanish speaker in America, that I would find it frustrating not to have that information available to me. Therefore, that is what I did my no hablo ingles project on. My final project that I ended up with, was a flyer about the services and class the family birthing center offers.

My Reflection about the ProjectThrough this project I learned a lot of valuable Spanish concepts. In order to translate my brochure about the family birthing center, there was a lot of new vocabulary that I had to learn too. Although I learned new vocabulary about the hospital, I do wish I would have learned a more various vocab. Also in this project I came away with the "apostrophe de" concept. Instead of using an apostrophe 's' you replace it with the word 'de'. I fell that by learning that concept, I was able to condense long sentences into short ones.
This project, I also learned more than just vocabulary and grammar concepts. I came away with a new out look on the spanish community in Durango. I never really put my feet in their shoes before, although now I have. It must be hard and scary at times to be in a place where you cannot even speak your own language. I may not know exactly what it is like, although through this project I now have an idea. I am very proud of how the final product turned out for this project. Although it was not a brochure like the one we based it off, it still looks nice. The final product does an awesome job of showing off the hard work that I put into it.

The content that I fell like I have walked away confidently with is:
Future tense: Ellos se lavarán las caras.
For the future tense, all you do is add one of these endings
é emos
ás eís
á án
Going to: Ella va a salir.
Ir+a+infinitive.
Conjugating Reflexives: Nos ceillamos el pelo.
Put the pronoun in front of the reflexive, then conjugate the verb normally.
